Why Are We Offering These Labels?

EcoEnclose proudly offers these unique, APR-approved polypropylene shipping labels to support brands in our EcoAlly community seeking How2Recycle approval. This is a uniquely formulated facestock and adhesive to align with APR's requirements. Note that the majority of polypropylene labels on the market are not APR approved and would not meet How2Recycle's requirements.

Most poly mailers and bubble mailers are currently recycled into composite decking like Trex. When thin film is recycled into decking, paper shipping labels are perfectly acceptable. The packaging industry advocates for a future where more thin film is recycled back into thin film packaging instead of downcycled into lumber. Film-to-film recycling is far more sensitive to paper and other contaminations. Because of this, How2Recycle has recently evolved its protocols and is pushing brands seeking the “Store Drop Off Recyclable” approval to utilize shipping and product labels supporting the film-to-film recycling process.

Use-Case Recommendations

We recommend these APR-approved labels to enterprise brands seeking How2Recycle approval for their thin film packaging.

We recommend brands using EcoEnclose’s stock poly mailers and bubble mailers to strongly consider EcoEnclose’s paper-based Zero Waste Direct Thermal Shipping Labels, which feature a 100% recycled, curbside recyclable release liner. Over time, as more thin film is recycled into packaging, we will encourage more brands to adopt these APR-approved shipping labels.
